Flood Risk Assessment, Drainage, and
Works Affecting Watercourses
Back

Many coastal and inland locations may be at risk from flooding in the absence of adequate flood defences and other flood mitigation measures. With the effects of global climate change these risks are set to grow.

At RSK STATS we specialise in developing cost effective and environmentally beneficial solutions to flooding and surface water drainage issues and provide:

  • Strategic flood advice in respect of Regional Spatial Strategies, Strategic Flood Risk Assessments, Local Development Frameworks and strategic land banking
  • Developer flood risk assessments for individual sites and infrastructure route corridors
  • Hydrological studies and modelling including breach analysis
  • Design of flood mitigation and resilience measures
  • Investigations and design advice on sustainable drainage systems (SUDS) for development
  • PPS25 Development and Flood Risk sequential and exception testing
In respect of works potentially affecting watercourses, we manage the processes required to achieve the necessary planning permission, obtaining licenses and consents for works and other regulatory approvals and ensuring compliance during works. This can involve undertaking site surveys and condition assessments of watercourses, drainage and flood defence infrastructure and problem-solving at design and construction stage. We are also able to integrate engineering works and environmental protection including ecological assessment and the relocation of protected species and new habitat creation.

RSK STATS Limited is certified by DNV to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OSHAS 18001 for Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety Management, accredited by CHAS and holds registrations with Constructionline, Link-up & UVDB.
