Ecology and Biodiversity
Back

Most forms of building and infrastructure development provide both opportunities to enhance the natural environment as well as the potential for adverse impacts. Good development aims to avoid placing damaging development on or close to sensitive sites, protect rare and protected species and habitats, use the least sensitive areas for any development and enhance nature conservation and bio-diversity.

We provide a comprehensive range of ecological services in support of planning applications, design and development, including:

  • Initial Phase 1 ecological and habitat surveys and evaluation
  • Detailed habitat, protected species and other specialist surveys and evaluation
  • Surveys for and advice on the control of invasive plant species, such as Japanese Knotweed
  • Environmental impact assessment, environmental management plans and site mitigation work
  • BREEAM, CEEQUAL, EcoHomes and Code for Sustainable Homes assessment
  • Advice and designs to enhance nature conservation and bio-diversity
  • Design, consenting/licensing and implementation of species translocation, new habitat creation and other mitigation measures.

RSK STATS' ecological services are now managed by our sister company RSK Carter Ecological, who are also part of the RSK Group.
