Slip and Skid Resistance

STATS has extensive expertise and experience in the slip and skid resistance performance of flooring materials and external finishes for pedestrians and vehicles. We provide both evaluation, advice and specification services prior to building and in service testing of surfaces.
STATS is also able to undertake laboratory research into the likely performance of materials to be subjected to particular environments, e.g. stone floors in areas where food and drink is to be consumed.

Fire and Bomb Damage

STATS has extensive expertise and experience in the investigation and assessment of fire and bomb damage to building materials. Using a wide range of on-site and laboratory scientific techniques we are able to assess the degree to which elements like reinforced concrete and cladding panels have been affected by heat and shock waves, leading to an assessment of their residual properties and continuing fitness for purpose in the affected building.

Structural Concrete, Steel and Cast Iron

STATS has extensive expertise and experience in the investigation and assessment of structural elements like reinforced concrete within buildings.
For three decades, STATS has been at the forefront of diagnosing and treating problems with concrete, including:

Materials in Buildings

STATS Materials Consultancy provides services for materials in buildings aimed at avoiding problems with new buildings and solving problems with materials in service in and around buildings. In the later case, this can include expert witness services for dispute resolution and litigation.

The service is provided by a professional team of well qualified scientists, engineers and specialist building surveyors, many of whom have particular areas of expertise built up over many years of consultancy practice. Further strength in depth is provided by our in-house laboratory services, where we are able to bring together the production of test results and other specialist analytical and examination procedures with their interpretation by the project consultants.

STATS is also at the forefront of adopting new on-site and remote sensing survey techniques for quarry evaluation and for building surveys. These include the ability to deploy materials experts on projects requiring roped access and using non-destructive techniques such as radar and thermal imaging.
